Kyrgyzstan. Do you know where it is? Have you ever heard of it? Are you interested?
The flag of Kyrgyzstan shows a yellow sun with 40 rays on a red background (red is one of the traditional Mongolian colors). The sunrays represent Kyrgyz tribes. The flag consists of a red field charged with a yellow sun that contains a depiction of a yurt (traditional tent). It is actually a depiction of the first thing one sees when waking up in a yurt.
The high mountain country is located in Central Asia surrounded by China, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
The capital is called Bishkek and has at least 1.5 million inhabitants and is the starting point to get to know the country. Round trips to Karakol to Lake Issyk-Kul or to Osh in the south on the edge of the Pamir Mountains are possible. Kyrgyzstan is hot in summer but comfortable in the mountains and very cold in winter. The mountain ranges of the Tien Shan mountains around Kyrgyzstan are up to 7000 m high. The best travel time is late May to mid-September. October is also incomparably beautiful in its autumnal mood, a special experience.
Our yurt camp is located at 2100 m (51º23’44.2″N 14º33’36.8″E) in the north of Lake Issyk-Kul, which is 15 times the size of Lake Constance but at an altitude of 1600 m.
Kyrgyzstan is a country for everyone who loves nature and wants to discover this original nature, country and people in “outdoor mode”.
Of course, this works very well individually, but also as a guided small group with various scenic and cultural highlights and activities with committed support.
That’s why we work closely with the highly recommended BelZhan Yurt Lodge www.BELZHAN.org in Grigorievka on Issyk-Kul and the Talant Azemov travel agency in Bishkek at www.Kirgistan-Reisen.com. Visit these pages for more information and suggestions.
